D House was located down the hill from Main House on
Hudson Street. It was a third story house with both the first and second
floors devoted to student rooms and bathrooms, with one room reserved for
the housefather. Students entered D House from a side door. As far as I
know, the front door was never used by students. The basement of D House was the
school Canteen, where you could buy candy, soda and other things. The
basement also had two pool tables, two ping pong tables, some chairs and a
sofa. Our athletic field and the site of the new gym were directly behind
D House.
During the period of
1957 - 1959, the youngest boarding students lived here with
Mrs. Ball as housemother.
