Saint James School was located between the intersection of Worthington Rd. and Hudson Street. One entrance to the school is where St. James Place is now. The curve in St. James Place is where we had a big parking circle, but the road continued strait and curved to eventually exit next to the 1811 house on Worthington Rd. The Saint James property consisted of most of the land from Hudson street to Sunset Lane and from about Lower Lane to Worthington Rd. There were a few private homes along Hudson St. and Worthington Road but most of the land in between belonged to the school. The area from what is now Lower lane to Westview Terrace. and from Hudson St. to Sunset Lane was the athletic field. “D” House was on Hudson St., about where Westview Terrace. is now. Behind “D” house was the site of the new gym which had its’ ground breaking in 1959. |
